A nobleman is dead, a former lover stands accused, and a forest village demands justice. As rain falls over Pinehall, the characters must unravel a web of poison, false accusations, and calculated deceit before a murder trial delivers a devastating verdict.

Deep within the Forest of Tharlin, the village of Pinehall becomes the stage for a high-stakes murder trial. Elpyra Morrovale, a respected tiefling apothecary, is accused of killing Lord Vellioro Drayl, whose poisoned body bears the wounds of a ceremonial dagger marked with her insignia. Father Liptis of the Church of the Divine Balance presides over the proceedings, while prosecutor Flavio Lemeel presents a persuasive tale of jealousy, greed, and a relationship turned deadly.

Yet appearances can be deceiving, and the evidence may tell only part of the story.

Serving as deputies in the investigation, the characters must examine the victim’s body at the Shrine of the Redeemer, search the lord’s manor for suspicious evidence, and retrace his final expedition through the Glade of Silverhoofs. Their pursuit of the truth brings them face-to-face with questionable witnesses, dangerous secrets, and the volatile Narthel Windoll. As sinister spores and falsified testimony expose contradictions in the case, the trail leads toward a hidden mastermind.

This investigative adventure combines courtroom suspense, roleplaying, mystery solving, and action-packed encounters. Players must navigate heated cross-examinations, confrontations in local taverns, and dangerous barn ambushes while gathering enough evidence to challenge the prosecution. In a trial where reputation can be as deadly as a blade, justice depends on seeing through deception and making the truth heard.
