Salt in the Wound PDF (Level 9-12) (Pathfinder 2e)

A one-shot of nautical fantasy, dragon rivalries, and a mystery beneath the waves

A merchant flagship has vanished, a remote island conceals a terrible secret, and the waters surrounding Brinecoast are growing increasingly dangerous. Sent to investigate the wreckage, the heroes soon find themselves caught between two brine dragons whose bitter history threatens to ignite a coastal conflict.

For years, Lord Captain Samiel Drayl has maintained the safety of Brinecoast’s maritime trade through a pact with Iskavira, a young brine dragon. But the return of Vhalzarkon, her merciless former mate, shatters the fragile peace. The Wavebourne Grace, a merchant vessel of considerable importance, has been destroyed on the reefs of the Isle of Kessar, leaving its crew unaccounted for and raising troubling questions about what lurks beneath the sea.

The silk baroness Ceres Drenna recruits the characters to join an expedition aboard the Widow’s Glory. Their mission leads them through the island’s jagged coastline, where they must contend with Skalrix the Salt-Tongue and his kobold devotees, who regard dragons as divine beings. Dangerous explorations through Wasp-Cleft Cave and the Brinefang Totem Grounds eventually reveal the flooded Brine Lair, a sinister cavern concealing chained prisoners and a mysterious dragon’s egg.

The island’s secrets are intertwined with the struggle between Iskavira and Vhalzarkon, whose supernatural command of salt and sea threatens everyone caught between them. This adventure combines maritime exploration, draconic encounters, and dangerous negotiations, leaving the heroes to determine whether peace can survive the dragons’ rivalry or whether the coast will pay the price.
