Salt in the Wound PDF (Tier 3) (Daggerheart)

A one-shot of dragon-infested seas and a mysterious island

The disappearance of a merchant ship draws the heroes toward an isolated island where ancient grudges and draconic power shape the fate of the surrounding waters. What appears to be a straightforward rescue mission soon exposes a deadly conflict that could destroy the fragile peace protecting the trade of Brinecoast.

Lord Captain Samiel Drayl has safeguarded the region’s merchant fleets through his agreement with Iskavira, a young brine dragon whose protection keeps the shipping lanes relatively safe. That arrangement comes under threat when Vhalzarkon, Iskavira’s former mate, returns with ruthless intentions. The Wavebourne Grace has been found wrecked on the reefs of the Isle of Kessar, but its missing crew and bloodstained remains suggest that something far more sinister occurred.

Commissioned by silk baroness Ceres Drenna, the characters embark aboard the Widow’s Glory to uncover the fate of the missing vessel. Their investigation brings them into the territory of Skalrix the Salt-Tongue, a zealous shaman who leads a kobold tribe devoted to draconic worship. After some potentially explosive diplomacy, they explore the dangerous Wasp-Cleft Cave and the Brinefang Totem Grounds, have to uncover clues that lead to the submerged Brine Lair, where prisoners hang in chains beneath the waterline and the enigmatic dragon’s egg lies hidden.

With two brine dragons competing for dominance, every discovery threatens to shift the balance of power. The characters must uncover the island’s secrets and decide where their loyalties lie before the conflict erupts into a storm of crystalline fury and suffocating salt. Their choices will determine whether the coast gains a new protector or falls victim to the dragons’ destructive feud.
